Picking up the slack

I may not be keeping up with the pictures as well as i should be, but others are lending a hand.

Seriously, it is all Ryan seems to do sometimes. He is pretty darn quick, too. I think we all wish we could tap in to his energy.

Nags Head

After a 14 hour flight and a day of rest at home, we packed up and hit the road for a week and a half in Nags Head with Lisa's parents.

Oddly enough, the little boy who couldn't get enough of the ocean in Kiawah was a pretty fearful this time around. His desire to roll around in and throw sand more than made up for it.







The dunes at Kill Devil Hills were a lot of fun for kite flying, sliding down hills and hiking.






The summer may be winding to a close, but this was a great way to close it out. we may be cleaning sand out of the car until next summer, but it sure beats working!!

We're Still Here

Sorry that the blog has been quiet for a while. we just got back from a week and a half in the Outer Banks. Pictures are ready yet but I'll bring you up to speed. For some reason, Ryan was a bit more fearful of the ocean this time around. Maybe it was the rougher current, maybe its because he's a fickle two year old. Either way he had much more fun on the sound side of the island where the water was shallow and calm. He also spent a lot of time working on throwing things on the beach - balls, shells, sand - if it wasn't nailed down, he tossed it. I think i might be dealing with a fellow lefty but i can't say for certain.

Ever since my China trip he's been talking about how Daddy goes on airplanes and that i was on an airplane for 14 hours - though in his toddler speak it comes out as "ott-teen elmos".

In other news, Lisa is feeling good in week 24 of pregnancy. For those of you who don't know, we are having another little boy - will be interesting to say the least.
