Gotta Stay Warm

Lisa wanted to go for a walk the other day and it was pretty cold so Ryan needed to be bundled up. What better way to do it than with his awesome snow suit. Check it out...

She then realized that his stroller was in the car with me at work. That left her with Plan B...the carrier...

Bath Time Fun

The big news of the day is that Ryan rolled over from his back to his stomach this morning. It was fun watch him get it the first time. He's been close for a while and finally figured it out.

Since there are no pictures of the actual rolling, here are a few from his bath tonight....

My Buddy Puma

This is Puma, one of Ryan's new roommates. He spends alot of time in our room and is pretty tolerant of Ryan.

At first, Ryan continued to be more interested in the mirror....

After that though, the two got into a bit of a staring contest. There was no real winner as Ryan lost his balance and fell over before either one blinked.

Sitting on the Bed

Ryan has been practicing sitting up quite a bit. He definitely not there yet, but he tries his best. It's a little easier on the soft bed. The rest are on smugmug. I had a tough time picking the ones to use here.

There's a mirror on the wall above where he's sitting which is why he is often looking up that way.

A Little Sniffle

Sorry for the lack of updates this past week. It's just that our son isn't particularly attractive when his nose is either completely stuffed up or runny and he's fussing because he isn't feeling well. That and Lisa and I are in the middle of house hunting. Ryan's feeling much better now and contemplated his willingness to be photographed while on Lisa's lap.

New Stats, New Seat

Because of the move, Ryan's 4 month appointment turned into a 5 month appointment. He went to see his new doctor (recommended by Kelly's Mom). Getting 4 shots in the leg made him pretty crabby for the rest of the day but he is definitely a healthy boy. He is in the 75th percentile for height (26 1/4 inches) and weight (18 lbs.). He continues to amaze with his enormous :) head. At 44 centimeters he is in the 90th percentile. If anyone can explain to me why the head in done in cm. but height is in inches I'd love to know.

In any event, he was back to his playful self for the weekend and spent some time Saturday morning with his best buddy....
Now that we've added solid food into the fix, it was time to add a high chair to the collection of kid gear...
We also tried the new bibs that are easier to clean up than cloth. No worries, though, they appear to be just as tasty...

5 Months Old; 100 Posts

Two pretty big milestones today - actually, 3. Ryan is now 5 months old, this is the 100th post on the blog, and Ryan had his first rice cereal.....

There's been no doubt that he's been checking out all of our food and grabbing for anything in sight. Now he just goes after his spoon.

I think we still need to work on getting all of it to get into, or even near, his mouth.
He sure does clean up well after he's done though.

Expanding Our Solids

After a bit of tummy time, Ryan was needing a snack, we had just finished our dinner and had some sweet potato left over.....

As always, it was a tie between Ryan's bib, face and mouth as to which ended up with more of the food.

Family Fun

My brother and I finally got around to getting our families together to celebrate Christmas, New Years, both of our birthdays and any other occasions we've missed. In the end, we all had the most fun watching our kids play.
Catherine enjoys being the big cousin. Everyone got to try her roll-on perfume.
Since Anna is a bit older than Ryan, sometimes she needs to be held in check.

I didn't think that the "girls are gross" phase started so early.

I Wasn't Joking...

...if you hold the kid, you end up on the blog. We stopped in Philly on the way back from NJ to have lunch with Zach, another one of my old Penn roommates. It was the first time we had seen him since his wedding.
