Bubbles?

Ryan and I spent some time playing with bubbles. He is having a bit of a hard time getting the technique down, though.

He ends up getting the wand a little too close which usually results in no bubbles being blown and a whole lot of soap on his face, in his mouth, etc...The thing is, he really doesn't mind the taste. Guess we won't be washing his mouth out with soap in the future.

Every so often we were successful - until, of course, the bubble got too big...

Growing up

I mentioned last time that Evan was starting to work on some solids. Rice cereal is going over pretty well, but the big hit was definitely Lisa's homemade pizza crust....

he's also starting to grow quite a bit too. we are just about ready to move him up to the next rung on the jumparoo...

Time is really flying by with him. He is a smiley, bouncy chatty little kid. He pays much more attention to me at this age than Ryan did, which is pretty cool. Here he is wondering what the goofy thing is that i keep point at him....

5 Months Old

Our little guy turned 5 months old today. The hair in the picture above is thanks to a bath this morning (see below). He is quite the chubby baby at around 18.5 pounds. we think that teeth may be on their way b/c of the increased fussiness. The alternative hypothesis is that he is being a typical 5 month old :)

over the last week or so we have started to introduce a couple of solid foods - bananas, and a piece of homemade pizza crust to gum on.

he is dying to be on the move but still isn't routinely rolling over. i think that from watching his brother, he wants to go from zero to running in the next month.

Finger Paint

Believe it or not, Lisa made her own finger paint for Ryan to play with. Probably good that it was all natural/non-toxic considering the results....

One Party, a Few Subplots

A week ago we went to a birthday party for Ryan's cousin, Anna. As a happy little 3 year old girl, she opted to have her party at her ballet studio. They went all out for Ryan - getting out the prince costumes for the production of Cindarella. Unfortunately, he had none of it. He has this hang up of being in groups/organized play. He will throw a fit, run away and then beg to "try again" after the event is over.

This is as close as he got to participating...

Of course, all is forgotten and forgiven when it comes to arts and crafts, juice and cake....

Here is the birthday girl, patiently waiting to blow out her candles...

In the midst of all the madness, Evan just hung out. There always seemed to be a willing set of arms to hold him...

Here is the insanity that ensues when you try to get all four of the kids to sit still and look at the camera...

Not even Grandpa could successfully reign them all in....

While ballet was most definitely not his thing, Ryan decided to turn in to a little show off and let us all know that he is an aspiring break dancer....

Happy Birthday, Lisa!

Sorry that the boys gave you such an early wake up call. Hope you make the best of it. I love you!!
