Birthday Party

While my internet connection continues to thwart my attempts to upload Christmas pictures, I'll take you back another week to Evan's first b-day party.

What better place to let kids run loose for a party than an empty house. Luckily, we had one handy since we haven't moved into our new place yet....



Given his habit of destroying all toys and creations in his path, he has earned the nickname "Godzilla"....hence the cake...



Living up to that reputation was a snap as he completely devoured his cake...this series speaks for itself. After his brother and cousin help with the candle...











He smelled like butter for the next few days and was clearly not happy to be cleaned up....

First Birthday Pics

I told you, this kid loves the camera. I got home from work and this was the first pose i got from him...



we had a great time just playing, snapping pics and having fun.







Ryan was thrilled that it was his brother's birthday. First, a little birthday hug...



Next, Ryan sat with me to take pictures. He loves it. he actually took over the controls and snapped this one himself...

Evan is One

OK, so i haven't posted anything substantial in a while, but - there is no way i could pass up my little buddy's birthday.

He is such a little ham. He follows Ryan everywhere and I think he secretly wishes he were 3 :)

This is the part of the post where i would toss up a ton of pics of the guy, but, my internet is being finicky so those will need to come later.

He gets to inaugurate our new house with a little birthday party on sunday too.

Since last year, 20 inches of snow arrived upon his arrival, it is only fitting that we got a couple today as well.

more to come, i promise - i'd say to check smugmug but i can't get them to upload there either. Booo....

11 months

holy cow, i can't believe that Evan is almost a year old. Absolutely nuts. He is a great little kid - loves his brother, the pets and any toy, gadget or wire he can get his hands on :)



He has started to do a little bit of walking too - 5 or 6 little steps at a time. he definitely still crawls for primary transport though.





since i am out of town this week, i snapped these pictures last week on a day off.

Also - i am pretty sure that we will be starting the haircut debate about him MUCH earlier that we did with Ryan.

Bath Time

OK, so i will hopefully recap all the stuff that has been going on around here while i've been slacking on the blog. In short, I have been traveling too much, we've been looking for a new house and the boys are as rambunctious as ever. Let's try to catch up, shall we?

The boys love having bath time together these days. Keeping them from tackling each other, sliding all over, and/or smashing heads on the tub keeps everyone on their toes...





You can never go wrong with a solid bubble beard...



Not to mention an endless supply of things to put in to your mouth....

10 months

The little dude turned ten months old today. I would really love to know where the time has gone. He is cruising all over the house and wants to be involved in anything and everything Ryan does. He loves to clap and give high fives. His newest trick is the refusal to leave a bib on. Overall he is a pretty easy going kid. Still working on a bunch of teeth and hopefully walking is right around the corner....

Hey, look....the zoo

if you've read the blog long enough, you'll know that the zoo is one of our favorite weekend activities. This time when we went it was actually Ryan's idea. We asked what he wanted to do - he said "go to the zoo...." so away we went....

Our Time

It started when Ryan was little and has continued with Evan - I get up on the weekends with the boys and Lisa grabs a little extra sleep. It's my time with the boys - we play and build and eat. It is also one of my favorite times to photograph them. Must be the early morning energy :)

Ready to Ride

When you live in a concrete jungle suburbia, the 4H fair isn't quite the same as it was up in Jersey. In fact, when we went to our local one not to long ago, the midway with rides and games was a bigger attraction than the animals. Now, I don't blame the crowd too much, b/c there weren't that many animals to begin with. Point being, we are looking forward to being a little further outside the city for a while.

Ryan had a blast though - the carousel was awesome, and the motorcycle ride was a hit too.

As for Evan - he did exactly was he does best, hung out, looking cute having a blast....
